T.I. Rates Bars From 2Pac and Iggy Azalea and He's Not Impressed

Though T.I. and Iggy Azalea once worked closely together, on a recent episode of BET's 'Rate The Bars,' T.I. was Azalea's worst critic.

T.I. is a hard man to impress. On a recent episode of BET's Rate The Bars, the Atlanta MC was asked to judge the lyrics of a handful of rappers based on a scale of one to five, including Iggy Azalea, 2Pac, B.o.B, and Boosie Badazz. T.I.'s opinions were certainly unfiltered.

While we laud Pac as being one of the greatest to do it, T.I. didn't agree. He gave the California rapper a measly one point for a verse from the song "Something Wicked," comparing Pac's lyrics to almost preschool-like rhymes. "I gave it a one because it’s, ‘rat, cat, dog, fog, run, fun.’ I’m done,” T.I. said.

And he certainly wasn't nice to his former Grand Hustle Records artist, Azalea. For her song "Switch," he gave her a 2.5, marginally higher than Pac. “It rhymes. And they’re talking about things," T.I. said about "Switch." T.I. gave himself 3.5 for the song "King of the South," calling his lyrics "savvy," and rated B.o.B's song "E.T." as the best, with a four.

It's not entirely surprising that T.I.'s opinion of Azalea's music was so harsh. During a Hot 97 interview in 2015, T.I. revealed that the two parted ways. A Twitter beef between Azalea and Azealia Banks prompted Q-Tip to pen a lengthy message to the Australian rapper, encouraging her to be mindful of hip-hop's deep-seated connection to race, politics, and history. T.I. had made the effort to smooth things over between Azalea and Banks, but Q-Tip's note incited an arrogant response from Azalea. Once T.I. caught wind of that, it was over.
