The two Toronto natives connect.

Saya has made quite the impression ever since releasing her debut single—and it's slick accompanying video—"Wet Dreams" almost two years ago. She's doled out a number of singles that all represent her self-styled "fusionist" brand of soulful, funky pop and her first EP, Chills and Thrills, is due any day now. Now as she gears up for that release, she's linked up with another one of Toronto's most talented young talents, Kris, for the addictive single "Paid."

“'Paid' is about being empowered in a relationship, being young, feeling yourself living lavishly and getting money. You know, sort of the ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ type of thing," Saya said, speaking to Red Bull about the track. She said she linked up with Kris after being a fan of her Don't Feel The Animals EP which we premiered on Complex a few years back: "When my team and I chose 'Paid' to be on the EP, we agreed having her as a feature would compliment the track. From there my managers reached out and connected us. There’s so much talent in Toronto. I’m very open to work with other artists in the city!"

Listen to "Paid" above and watch for Saya's debut EP, Chills and Thrills, to release on January 31.
