It hasn't been all that long since Kodak Black dropped a mixtape with his crew Sniper Gang, having just released their mixtape Baptized N Blood last month. The way he works is relentless, constantly releasing project after project, with a number of free releases and some larger efforts. The amount he released in 2017 was hard to keep up with, and judging from how long it took for him to return in 2018, he seems set to stay just as busy this year.

With little warning, he's dropped a new track to kick off the New Year. "Here It Is," which can be streamed below, is typical Kodak. Slur-rapping over the colorful production, it's very much in the vein of his usual stream-of-conscious style rhyming. Kodak even recently tried to show off his skills when he freestyled in a parking lot for 12 minutes, but he's definitely no Black Thought that's for sure.

2017 was a very busy year for Kodak, having released his debut album Painting Pictures, featuring big name guests such as Young Thug, Future, and Metro Boomin among others. He followed up that release with the mixtape Project Baby 2 in August, and that mixtape featured appearances from XXXTentacion and Offset.

Kodak's continued success hasn't been without controversy, having faced very serious sexual assault allegations. In February he allegedly bit a victim, tore off her clothes, and raped her. If convicted, he will face up to 30 years in prison. Regardless, he continues to have a career, which speaks volumes about the hip-hop community, with rappers such as X and 6ix9ine continuing to receive support despite their questionable actions.
