A serious beat down landed Flavor Flav in the hospital Tuesday night.

According to TMZ, the legendary rapper got into an altercation with a man named Ugandi Howard inside the South Point Casino in Las Vegas. Flav told authorities it all started after Howard accused him of disrespecting his mother. Following an exchange of words, Howard allegedly starting wailing on Flav, punching him in the face and kicking him while he was down on the floor. It sounds like it was pretty brutal; however, Flav reportedly told authorities that the only reason he fell to the ground was because he “pulled a groin muscle.” Video of the incident can be viewed above.

Casino security detained Howard until Las Vegas police arrived. Officers told TMZ that the full altercation was captured on the casino’s surveillance, which showed Howard throwing the first punch. The suspect was cited for battery and eventually released. Flav was taken to a nearby hospital to treat minor injuries.

This isn’t the first time Flav has run into trouble in Sin City. In 2011, the Public Enemy rapper was arrested after he was found to have multiple outstanding warrants stemming from traffic violations. In 2014, police stopped Flav after he was caught driving 73 mph in a 45-mph zone. He was then arrested for DUI and marijuana possession, and was cited for speeding, false registration, having an open container, and driving with a suspended license.
