Cardi B Defends Offset Amid Backlash for Rapping 'Queer' Lyric

Cardi B sticks up for Offset after a fan said she deserved better.

As infidelity rumors continue to circulate, Cardi B and Offset's relationship has been repeatedly tested since they got engaged in October. While Cardi B did publicly warn Offset that he shouldn't cheat again or he'll "lose his wife," she continues to stick up for her fiancé.

Offset has now been facing heavy backlash for rapping "I cannot vibe with queers" during his verse on YFN Lucci’s song, "Boss Life." He quickly apologized and explained that he was using the dictionary definition of queer, which means strange or odd. "I got love for all people," he wrote on Instagram. "I'm not in a place where I'm hating like that."

Negative responses continued, however, and one fan tweeted at Cardi B: "You deserve someone better than Offset."

In a since-deleted tweet, Cardi stood up for Offset and replied: "Don't tell [me] about who I deserve with him or not. You don't know how he matured me. Before I [met] him I ain't had a lawyer, business management and I was insecure about my music. He gave me confidence and help[ed] me get my business situated."

After deleting the original tweet, Cardi B followed up with a slightly more vague tweet that pointed out all the negativity that people have been throwing her way lately.

People are just too miserable for me 🤷🏽‍♀️I’m sorry I’m to blessed to be dealing with ya shit today. The negativity is not going to tarnish my feelings from these blessings and opportunities I’m getting .Have a good day 💁🏽
