2017 may be almost over, but there’s never a shortage of songs going after Donald Trump and his problematic presidency. Dreezy, Kodak Black, and 6LACK have united to represent the youth’s feelings towards Trump in “Spar,” and its video conveys more of those emotions. If you were at any point upset about Trayvon Martin’s death or Meek Mill’s prison sentence, these are illustrated as reminders that an unfair justice system still exists.
The video, which Complex is premiering today, is created by Tristan Zammit, who has collaborated with the likes of Lil Yachty and ASAP Ferg. “Spar” is an animated video that highlights the issue in a manner that’ll hopefully spark motivation within the younger generation to make a change. Aside from the aforementioned instances, Sandra Bland’s death in a Texas jail cell, torch rallies by white supremacists in Charlottesville, and the Orlando Pulse nightclub shooting all hold their own individual weight and should not be forgotten.
"'Spar' is important because it let's people know how we, the youth, feel about today's society and how we all need to be playing a part and paying attention, politician or not," Dreezy says in a statement to Complex.
