Earlier this month, The Diplomats dropped a new single, "Once Upon A Time." Aside from it being a Dipset banger that fans have been waiting to hear, it hit the news cycle because Cam'ron brought up how Dame Dash once slapped Harvey Weinstein.

On the track, Cam mentioned how there was "no disrespecting ladies," seemingly implying that Dame knew about Harvey's decades of sexual harassment and sexual assault, but let Dipset's own Freekey Zekey tell it, the altercation didn't have anything to do with a woman.

During a recent interview with MTV, Freekey said he saw Dame slap Harvey Weinstein. "The muthafucka was talking stupid shit," Freekey said, "and Dame said, 'Stop talking the stupid shit' and he said one more stupid shit and then he got slapped. The End."

When Juelz Santana, who was also in the interview, asked what "stupid shit" Harvey Weinstein was talking about, Freekey said that Weinstein "tried to tell Dame he didn't know what he was doing. He tried to tell Dame about a situation with Po and Rich. He was like, 'Nah I think we should do it in this form and fashion.'" After Juelz admitted he didn't know who Harvey Weinstein was, Freekey continued, saying Weinstein "tried to explain to Dame about what needed to be done between Rich and Po." Zekey says when Dame told Weinstein he "wasn't there" to know what would've gone down between Rich and Po, Weinstein suggested he knew what would be better when Dame smacked him.

To add some context, it sounds like the "Rich and Po" Zekey is referring to are Rich Porter and Alberto "Alpo" Martinez, a.k.a. the Ace and Rico characters from 2002's Paid In Full, which Dame produced through Roc-A-Fella Films, and was distributed by Weinstein's Miramax Films company. As these were tales from the streets of Harlem, there's no doubt that Harvey Weinstein would know fuck-all about the history, and more than likely tried to massage the film's script to make things work as how he'd prefer them to look.

All he got was smacked up.
