Tyler, the Creator Reveals "See You Again" Was Originally Written for Zayn Malik

"See You Again" could have almost been a Zayn Malik song instead of a Tyler, The Creator hit.

Tyler, the Creator really loves Twitter. The rapper is no stranger to using the social media platform to voice his frustration at how album numbers are counted, announce his Flower Boy Tour, or respond to controversial remarks he made about his sexuality in an interview, and that's only counting a few recent examples. And now he’s back on Twitter to release a brand new fun fact: he originally wrote "See You Again," a song on his newest album Scum Fuck Flower Boy, for Zayn Malik.

After noticing that "See You Again" has been playing on "a few radio stations," Tyler felt compelled to share that he only recorded the song himself because Zayn failed to show up for studio time more than once. He doesn’t seem too broken up about his decision, though, ending the tweet by admitting that it "worked out actually."

see you again is getting played on a few stations, awesome, hope i catch it at some point
fun fact: i wrote 'see you again' for zayn but that bitch flaked on studio time twice, so i kept the ref for myself, worked out actually

This isn't even the first time that Tyler has admitted that he specifically wrote a song or a verse for another artist that didn't never came to fruition.

After a fan noticed that the vibe of Flower Boy track "Who Dat Boy?" would have been a perfect fit for Schoolboy Q, the TDE rapper himself agreed on Twitter, sending out a slightly intimidating tweet in response.

Tyler & rocky didn't wanna get bodied..... https://t.co/wGrZMumvAO

Tyler, not one to back down, responded to the back and forth in the most Tyler, The Creator way possible.

YOU FAT LYING BITCH I MADE THAT BEAT SPECIFICALLY FOR YOU AND YOU SAID " EHH, NAH" SO I KEPT IT YOU DIRTY NIGGA https://t.co/QkkN5pgNr1

In other Tyler, the Creator news, he recently shared the lineup for this year’s Camp Flog Gnaw. The annual festival will take place in Los Angeles from Oct. 28-29 and will include performances from Lana Del Rey, Kid Cudi, Solange, Migos, Vince Staples, Mac Miller, and others.
