Justin Bieber Clears Up Floyd Mayweather Beef: 'We Just Need to Create Boundaries'

Justin Bieber claims he doesn't have any beef with Floyd Mayweather.

Just days before Floyd Mayweather was scheduled to fight Conor McGregor in late August, an explosive report emerged indicating that Mayweather had a much bigger beef on his hands than the one involving his UFC foe. According to TMZ Sports, Mayweather and his friend—er, former friend?—Justin Bieberwere reportedly at odds after the singer decided to create some separation between himself and Mayweather by unfollowing him on Instagram. Mayweather reportedly went "nuclear" when he found out about it and called Bieber a "traitor" for turning his back against him.

In an interview with Hollywood Unlocked that took place right before the Mayweather/McGregor match, Mayweather downplayed the alleged beef between him and Bieber by saying that he didn’t have anything negative to say about him. But he also mentioned that he doesn’t speak on other people unless he has something positive to say about them, so he subsequently seemed to suggest that he did, in fact, have an issue with Bieber unfollowing him on the 'gram. You can watch a brief clip from that interview here.

On Monday, TMZ caught up with Bieber for a short interview and asked him about the current state of his relationship with Mayweather. He attempted to downplay the original TMZ report, but he also admitted that he has actively tried to set some boundaries between him and Mayweather.

"I have nothing against Floyd," Bieber said. "We just need to create boundaries and stuff when it comes to certain things."

Bieber didn’t say what "certain things" he was referring to. But if reports about the Mayweather/Bieber beef are to be believed, Bieber has tried to avoid all of the IG posts Mayweather has put up about his new Las Vegas strip club in recent weeks, seeing as how Bieber is actively involved in his church right now. And that seems to have created a rift between the two men.

Elsewhere in the TMZ interview, Bieber also spoke briefly about the seizure Lil Wayne suffered over the holiday weekend. He said he hadn’t heard the news about Wayne, but he told TMZ he planned on contacting the rapper to check in on him.

"Oh, really? Damn," Bieber said, clearly surprised by the news. "I would just say to… I would just say to… man, I didn’t know. He’s my boy. I’m going to have to reach out to him."
