Monday, Drake kept the teases going:
This fried eggs hype arrives on the heels of another studio-related Instagram post from Drake that resulted in entire articles being written about it. Last week, Drake shared a photo of a studio session with new OVO Sound member Baka that revealed a giant Beyoncé portrait hanging on the wall:
Though the More Life project just dropped back in March, Drake apparently has no interest in slowing down his output. In August, Drake told the crowd at the eighth annual OVO Fest that an OVO x XO collaborative project of some sort "has to happen." The following week, Drake's historic eight-year run on the Billboard Hot 100 came to an end, inspiring Drake to issue himself one hell of a challenge. "I need 500," Drake told a petulant paparazzo shortly after Billboard announced the end of his 431 consecutive Hot 100 weeks.
Drake attributes that confidence to former Toronto Raptors legend Vince Carter. Speaking at the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of The Carter Effect over the weekend, Drake said Carter's success showed him such a life was possible. "It was confidence," he said, according toBillboard. "It was the realization that it was attainable. This guy could come over here and lift us up. Imagine if it was one of us that could make it out there."
Drake will next take his Boy Meets World Tour to New Zealand and Australia in November.
