It’s the day ASAP Twelvyy fans have been waiting for: His debut studio album, 12, has officially arrived.

As you might recall, the rapper’s first solo project was teased all the way back in 2014, when ASAP Mob founder ASAP Yams announced Twelvyy had recorded the “best NY rap album [he’s] heard in years.” Expectations were clearly set high, but it wasn’t until last month that fans received the album’s first single, “Strapped.” Since then, the 28-year-old artist has rolled out “Yea Yea Yea (Maps),”“Diamonds” featuring ASAP Rocky, “Periodic Table,” and, most recently, “Hop Out” with ASAP Ferg.

The latter dropped just hours before 12 hit streaming services, and it was soon be followed by its official music video, which you can watch below.

In an interview with Complex, Twelvyy discussed his long-awaited album, shedding light on its inspiration, its title change, and its themes.

“The everyday struggle. Staying authentic, staying raw, staying New York City,” he explained when asked about the topics in 12. “I love evolution, but I’ve seen with Rocky first coming out, or or Ferg, [people say,] ‘Yo, these cats don’t sound like New York.’ My whole mission was to be like, ‘Alright, you could say that these two don’t sound like the city—but yo, he sound like the city.’ That was one thing that was in my head too: sounding where I’m from or helping our sound grow.”

12 is available to purchase on iTunes and can be streamed on Apple Music today. You can also check it out below via Spotify.

Twelvyy and the rest of the Mob are also gearing up to release their Cozy Tapes Vol. 2: Too Cozy project, which is set to drop Aug. 24.
