Lil Uzi Vert's New Album Could Have a Huge First Week Debut

What’s up guys?! Beija here for Complex.   Last week was huge for hip-hop as Lil Uzi Vert, XXXTENTACION, and ASAP Mob all dropped their highly anticipated projects and fans were more than ready to vibe out to the new tracks. Opinions on the newly released tapes flooded social media and resulted in more people getting hyped wanting to indulge as well. There are still several days left until we get first-week numbers on the albums, but now we have a better idea as to which album will lead on the charts thanks to HITS Daily Double presenting some early sales projections.    Lil Uzi Vert took to Twitter to reveal the official date for LUV is Rage 2 the day before it released and the announcement had fans waiting on the edge of their seat for 12am to strike. Since the drop, HDD reports that LUV is Rage 2 reached the No. 1 spot on iTunes on the day of its release, and has gone back and forth from No. 1 and No. 2 on Apple Music. The Philly rappers’ debut studio album is expected to top sales with an estimated 110,000-120,000 copies moved within its first week. Out of those numbers, 25,000-28,000 are projected to be in traditional album sales, which could easily put Uzi at the top spot on the upcoming Billboard 200 chart.   Expected to trail behind Lil Uzi Vert is XXXTENTACION with 17. His debut album is projected to move 65,000-70,000 copies including 15,000-18,000 in album sales. These numbers are highly impressive and it’s probably due to the South Florida rapper’s controversial fake hanging that everyone was talking about on social media--or maybe it’s due to Kendrick Lamar’s co-sign. Whatever the case may be, people are bumpin’ the album and that’s all the matters.   Last, ASAP Mob’s Cozy Tapes Vol. 2: Too Cozy is projected to come in third out of all of these releases. As of right now, the album is expected to move only 30,000-35,000 copies with 7,000-9,000 in physical copies sales. The numbers are extremely low and it’s more than likely due to the fact that it’s the Mob’s third project release THIS month. Fans could probably not be so hyped for the new material due to the fact that they just got ASAP Ferg’s Still Striving and ASAP Twelvyy’s 12.   What do you think is the best tape out of all these new releases and why? Be sure to tell us your thoughts in the comments. That’s all the news for now, but for more, be sure to subscribe to Complex on Youtube today. For Complex News, I’m Beija Velez.
