There's no denying UK funky's place in the history of UK club music. What is up for debate, though, is whether or not the soca-influenced sound is making a comeback. With the myriad club sounds currently pulsing through the UK (dancehall, soca, grime, afrobeats, wave, etc., etc.), it doesn't really matter that much. With that in mind, step forward Nigerian-born producer DJ Chillz and her new drop "Hide It". There's certainly a strong element of UK funky in there—with its clattering rhythms and soulful vocals—but any DJ worth their salt could make this work in just about any lively club set, from Afrobeats to straight-up house.

For big fat bassbins only.
