Not Tonight, Boys, the debut project from London's own MAX90, is entirely unique in its composition, created as a part of his final year dissertation at Westminster University. A tight and concise concept EP, the 5-tracker was crafted in supplement to a paper on the racist and classist undertones of law and policy in the capital's nightlife. The result is a top-notch collection of tracks drawing from personal experiences of hazy nights in a city of bright lights.

Mature and textured, this is an immersive project fusing sounds from influences ranging from Frank Ocean's stripped-back, visceral lyricism to '80s synth-pop's sparse breaks and segments. With the small matter of university out of the way, MAX90 informed Complex that he was to use the remainder of the year to cook up a follow-up, as well as something new in the works with his brother as one of the duo Jack & Max. Oh, and by the way: the project received First Class Honours. Stream the EP exclusively below.
