British pop star Ed Sheeran is reportedly in talks with movie executives to make his own 8 Mile-esque biopic, according to NME. The "Shape of You" singer is certainly no Eminem, but he would like to make a film about growing up in Ipswich, a town in England about 60 miles from London.

"I want to have an 8 Mile moment but 8 Mile meets Notting Hill," Sheeran told British music magazine Q. "Not gritty like Detroit but, like, Ipswich. I’ve got loads of songs about Ipswich that haven’t come out so I could make a soundtrack."

Sheeran has spoken publicly before about how much he looks up to Eminem, frequently citing the rapper as an inspiration and even trying to rap like him. Nevertheless, Sheeran is definitely not the greatest rapper.

This latest revelation shouldn’t come as a huge surprise to plugged-in fans since Sheeran told British tabloidThe Sun back in March that his "next thing" was "to make a film that I do the soundtrack for and star in." And Sheeran has clearly been trying to break out onto any kind of screen, considering he is somehow slated to appear in the upcoming season of Game of Thrones.

But for the rest of us, the news about his biopic has come as a bit of a confusing shock.
