Vic Mensa has new music on the way, and we wont have to wait too long to hear it.
On Tuesday afternoon, the 24-year-old rapper hit up Twitter to announce that his upcoming EP, titled The Manuscript, will drop before the end of the week. He shared the news with a video that shows him on a lit-up stage before sitting down to work on a typewriter.
“This for all my fans that say they want that old Vic,” Vic raps over a piano-heavy track. “I’ve grown too much to ever be that old Vic.”
The trailer is captioned with the project’s title as well as its release date: this Thursday, June 8. It also features “1 of 2,” which suggests Vic has another project on the way ahead of his long-awaited debut album under Roc Nation.
FakeShoreDrive founder Andrew Barber said he’s already heard Vic’s upcoming album, and provided several details of what fans can expect. He called the project Vic’s “best work to date” and that it is an “easy contender for album of the year.” He also claimed the album will feature Pharrell, The Game, as well as Chief Keef, and will be executive produced by No I.D.
It sounds like Vic has something good up his sleeve, and we’re glad he’s holding us over with new music later this week. Peep the cover below.
