Today, we have a special episode of Everyday Struggle lined up as Wale joins Joe Budden, DJ Akademiks, and Nadeska for a lengthy discussion that focuses on his new album, Shine, and his rap career that has had its share of ups and downs.

Wale's fifth studio album Shine dropped on April 28 to mostly positive reviews. However, the veteran MC was unable to drum up the kind of interest that has seen two of his solo albums debut at No. 1 (The Gifted in 2013 and The Album About Nothing in 2015).

The first week projections for Shine are in, with the project moving under 26,000 equivalent album units, which is a worse result than his debut solo Attention Deficit, which sold 28,000 copies. This is a topic the gang dive into today, among other pieces of his career. Wale also discusses the J. Cole issue from last December.
