Makonnen has been keeping a low profile lately, but it looks like he may finally be ready to hop back into the spotlight. He dropped "Line 2" and "Lonely Girl" on his Soundcloud over the weekend, the first new tracks he has released there in at least nine months.

The "Tuesday" crooner's absence has been rather intentional, as he revealed in a February interview that he was trying to stay out of the spotlight while still being immersed within a big city. That led him to Portland, Oregon, where he's currently living, and his new home is part of what pushed him to come out as gay earlier this year.

"Portland is a place where everyone is being themselves," he said. "So I just felt like, I'm living here, and I want to be able to be myself. I guess that's why I call it my home now."

His relative seclusion hasn't stopped him from getting mixed up in controversy. Migos' comments on his sexuality drew intense scrutiny in February, and Makonnen eventually addressed some of the backlash to his coming out in an interview with The Fader

"Why you talkin' about Makonnen? Y'all 'Bad and Boujee' right now," he said. "Why we talkin' bout Makonnen? It's whatever. Ain't nobody hit me up personally. Y'all want to reach out to me? I'm not hard to find!"

Makonnen claims to be exploring the Portland music scene since moving there, checking out punk bands, hip-hop showcases, and much more in his new city. You can listen to the byproduct of his new experiences below: "Lonely Girl," a song he described as him "under new management" and possibly hinting it'll be on the next Drink More Water installment, and "Line 2," a song for the Class of '17 that he freestyled in one take.
