JT Soul is only 17 years old, but you'd never guess it upon listening to his new EP 372 ; Velvet Tears, which we are premiering here today on Complex. The six tracks explore dark themes of love, pain, drugs and more. It's apparent that this young artist has experience beyond his years that he's been able to challenge into music that straddles genres of alternative R&B, future bass and trap.

Hailing from Montreal, JT Soul takes a lot of inspiration from his city. His name is a tribute to the street he grew up on, Jean-Talon Street, and the "372" in his EP's title is a reference to the night bus that travels Jean-Talon Street from one end of the city to the other. Of his new project JT Souls tells Complex that "the concept was conceived one night on the 372 Jean Talon night bus, and every song is a representation of my emotions and thoughts during the after hours of the night - I hope this record takes you back there with me."

The EP was produced entirely by Jei Bandit, with engineering from certified G and four-time Grammy winner Tom Coyne who has worked with such artists as The Weeknd, Justin Bieber and even Adele. Stream the project below and keep your eyes and ears on this rising talent.
