Following on from his Moon Observations album in 2014, Dutch producer and video director David Douglas is now readying his new LP Spectators Of The Universe (due March 24 via Atomnation Records). While the first album focused heavily on organic textures, stopping short of dance music in the purest sense, Spectators... takes in a more potent disco and clubbing influence. "Pay No Mind", for example, fully commits to this sound with a prominent bounce and a hugely infectious, head-nodding melody. If Moon Observations was an organic, earth-bound collection of songs, Spectators... is the funk-filled, technicolour voyage to the stars.
