Distal's uncompromising approach to club music has always shone through in his tracks. Right from those first early Embassy releases in 2010, his sound was fully formed. Since then he's become a sought-after remixer for producers across the planet. This week, however, the tables have turned and it's Distal's turn to draw for the remixers. The Bushido Rave Remixes EP (out Dec. 9 on Hot Mom USA) features an impressive roll-call of club royalty—Roska, rising Japanese producer Carpainter, underground ballroom don Vjuan Allure and on-the-pulse hero GRRL all contributed reworks—but it was the penultimate version, a "Battle" mix with Baltimore club legend Scottie B that caught our ear. Bringing together Distal's knack for a hi-def club banger with Scottie B's inimitable dusty B'more breaks has proved a match made in gritty club heaven.
