South London duo and Channel U kings Nikki S & Nyke made their return for 2016 just last month, dropping "Legendary", alongside Flirta D. Today, the lads keep the momentum going with a new freestyle over Jon E Cash's classic grime instrumental "Hoods Up". Exhibiting their playful rhymes and catchy one-line flows, the pair do damage on the riddim in the unique way that we've come to expect from them. "Me and Nik wanted to have some fun with this and bring out some of our original pirate radio vibes and energy," Nyke told Complex via email. "The name pays tribute to the original but early grime heads will notice some nice new tweaks, courtesy of BLACK OPS."

Revealing that they're now both black cab drivers, Nyke went on to say: "Music is in our heart and, naturally, we stayed involved, continuing to work on new ideas in the studio. Since then, we've been busy recording and collaborating all year." In a year that has brought so much unpredictability—who's to say the surprise comeback kids of 2017 won't be these two Channel U legends turned cabbies? Check out their new freestyle below.
