Bristol-based R&B singer Javeon has a new single out today; "Control". The song continues more or less where his Show Me Something EP left off, ramping up the unflinching self-examination in his lyrics and laying them over rich, expansive production. After lending vocals to the likes of DJ Zinc, Le Youth and Cyril Hahn, and writing for Torey Lanez, it's good to see Javeon focusing on himself. Just like Show Me Something, the production on "Control" sits somewhere between UKG, trap and the kind of electronics you could describe as 'futuristic'. Though "Control" would work pretty well in a club, it's the lyricism that will keep it in your winter playlists.
