As a member of London's PushCrayons creative collective—alongside the likes of rapper Kojey Radical—experimental producer Jasper Sommer crafts intriguing electronic soundscapes, drawing on a fusion of wide-ranging influences and inspirations. Having struck our attention earlier this year with "99%", a track borne out of anger and frustration at the police shootings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, the track's message was ultimately for the "99% to rise up to the 1%."
Releasing his Enter: The Woods EP last summer, tied around a loose concept involving a 300 million-year-old protagonist, today, Sommer unveils the follow up in An Eye For The Winter. Another 4-track set, its brief length is made up for yet again, by the ambitious scope and expansive message laid out; opening with "Huntress Wizard", pegged by rattling drum patterns and a soaring vocal sample, the EP's liberating and revolutionary message is outlined from the jump.
