Hip-Hop icon A Tribe Called Quest is reportedly on track to score the group's first No. 1 album in over 20 years with We got it from Here… Thank You 4 Your service. Billboard estimates the album will earn around 120,000 units and claim the top spot for the week ending in Nov. 17.
The moment is especially meaningful considering the project marks the sixth and final album for the group. It's also the first album the group has released since Phife Dawg's passing earlier this year after a decades long battle with degenerative diabetes. The group last topped the Billboard 200 back in August of 1996 with their album Beats, Rhymes and Life, which debuted at No. 1 on the chart.
Over the weekend, Members Q-Tip, Ali Shaheed Muhammad, and Jarobi White hit up Saturday Night Live as the musical guest where they put on a powerful performances of "We the People...." and "The Space Program." The remaining members of Tribe made sure to pay an emotional tribute to the late Phife by unveiling a giant stylized drawing of him when his verse came up during the first song. During "The Space Program," the group recruited their longtime collaborators and friends, Consequence and Busta Rhymes, to join them on stage.
