Following a pair of stellar performances from Lady Gaga of songs from her latest record Joanne, Saturday Night Live dropped a fantastic piece of news on us last night. For their Nov. 5 episode, the show has tapped none other than Solange to hold it down as the musical guest.

Mark your calendars! #SNL pic.twitter.com/gmjpStrNDT

It's a big move for Solange, who dropped one of the most dazzling and potent albums of 2016, A Seat at the Table, earlier this year. Expect to hear a couple of songs from that record, most likely the single "Cranes in the Sky."

When I complained that #SNL could've booked Solange for the first time over the Weeknd, who appeared just last year, someone listened. :-)

As you can imagine, fan responses to the news were ecstatic:

solange is performing on SNL November 5th?!?! aw snap! DVR set!!
I'm ready to hear those vocals on #snl but I'm also excited to see the outfit choice! #Solange 11/5 SNL

SOLANGE IS ON SNL IN NOV!!!!! THIS IS NOT A DRILL!!!!!!!!
SOLANGE DOING SNL IN 2 WEEKS? AIN'T GOD GOOD.

SNL writers are noted fans of Solange's sister Beyoncé, and have already this year parodied her Lemonade visual in an attempt to skewer Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. And who could forget the Beygency? What do you think the chances are that they're able to rope Solange into a bit of Bey humor when she hits Studio 8H? Let us know in the comments section below.
