Safaree Samuels and Nicki Minaj had a falling out after their breakup that resulted in a lawsuit on Safaree's end, and now, he's discussing how Meek Mill had a lot to do with their split.
Recently, the Game claimed in his diss track "Pest Control" that Meek Mill FaceTimed Nicki while Safaree was with another woman. Safaree responded on Instagram writing, "Honestly, I should thank him." Expanding more on what he meant, Safaree confessed to the Rap-Up, "I'm just saying, I just meant like...[Meek Mill] definitely was a big part as to why me and Nicki broke up, you know what I'm saying? So, that's why I said that."
The rapper has already admitted that he dropped his lawsuit against Nicki that claimed he had played a significant role in a majority of her albums, but reveals that the drawn out process is what made him change his mind. "I dropped everything," he explained. "I'd started a process and then I was like, 'It is what it is. If you want to deal with it like that, go ahead. I ain't trippin'.' I’m doing a lot and I don’t want to have to deal with depositions and courts and all of that. Ain't nobody threatened me. Ain’t nobody make me do it. At the end of the day, I didn't even wanna do it. I just know if it was me and the shoe was on the other foot, I'd handle it and just say, 'Peace out. Here. Do what you gotta do. That's it.' But I just dropped it."
For her part, Nicki publicly slammed the lawsuit calling Safaree "miserable." "You can't even celebrate your happiness anymore w/o being victimized. Miserable ppl refuse to move on w/their lives," she wrote at the time.
As for "Pest Control," Safaree thinks "That was one of the craziest diss records of all time. And it’s not even on no bias shit." Watch his full interview above.
