Premiere: Listen to Luu Breeze's "Should've Been on Hot 97 (Freestyle)"

Toronto rapper, Luu Breeze, spits an emphatic freestyle and shouts out Hot 97.

Toronto emcee, Luu Breeze, is back with a fiery freestyle cut. The track, "Should've Been On Hot 97 (Freestyle)", sees the rapper spit assertive bars over Mobb Deep's 1995 classic instrumental for, "Eye For An Eye". It's a blatant attempt to snag the attention of the New York radio station, but the move is validated with a focused cadence and impressive wordplay. This is the first edition in a planned series of freestyles, which Breeze aims to release for the next month.

The rapper has been quite busy as of late. Earlier this year, Breeze dropped the gritty mixtape, Something In The Shade. Since then, there has been a steady release of new music, including the sunny, "Lost" and the excellent SLMN collaboration "Too Much Time".

"Should've Been On Hot 97" is chock-full of Funk Flex shout-outs and is highlighted by confident, staccato bars. You can stream the premiere below, via SoundCloud. Make sure you stick to Luu's page to follow along with the series' other tracks.
