It’s been over a year since Vince Staples releasedSummertime ’06; however, one of its tracks recently got a white, Christian mom up in arms.
As pointed out by Genius, a woman, who claims to be a mother of four, filmed an 11-minute video in which she rants about Staples' song “Norf Norf." She said she heard the song on a Top 40 radio station while driving with her children, and immediately became upset about what she heard.
“This is on our local radio station, this crap is being played,” she said. “I couldn’t even believe the words that I was listening to. As a mom, it infuriated me.”
The woman than goes on to recite some of the unedited “Norf Norf” lyrics—yes, including the N-word—in front of her child, and is eventually brought to tears. "I've gotta collect myself because this is what our youth is being subjected to," she said.
