Eminem surprised everyone with a new track "Campaign Speech," which takes on the 2016 election, race relations, pop culture, and more. Em goes in for over seven minutes on the track, dropping references to Trayvon Martin, George Zimmerman, Colin Kaepernick, and Charleston church shooter Dylann Roof. "Dressing George Zimmerman in a florescent orange dress and four inch heels/To address the court with a bulls-eye on his back/His whole chest and torso left on the doorstep of Trayvon's dad as a present for him," he raps.
He also drops a diss line at Vivica A. Fox, and goes in on Donald Trump. "And that's what you wanted, a fucking loose cannon who's blunt with his hand on the button who doesn't have to answer to no one? Great idea," he raps. Despite mounting criticism in recent years, the track is still peppered with homophobic slurs, including several uses of the word "faggot." The backing music is practically nonexistent, allowing Em to really go off without the constraints of a beat.
Eminem shared the track on Twitter, where he also revealed that he's working on a new album. He hasn't released a proper album since 2013's Marshall Mathers LP 2, although he did work on the Shady Records complication album Shady XV in 2014. He also contributed music and executive produced the soundtrack to the boxing film Southpaw last year. "And that's what you wanted, a fucking loose cannon who's blunt with his hand on the button who doesn't have to answer to no one? Great idea."
