A subway singer by the name of Mike Yung went viral on the internet recently after one anonymous passerby captured one of his performances and tweeted it out online with the caption, "Twitter is gonna single-handedly get this man signed." The video has since racked up more than 28,000 likes and has been viewed more than 40 million times. So naturally, James Corden and everyone at the Emmy nominatedThe Late Late Show decided to invite Yung to their show to recreate the viral clip.
On Wednesday night, Corden opened his show by bringing Yung out to perform the same song he was caught performing in the viral video, the Righteous Brothers' 1960s classic, "Unchained Melody." The native New Yorker took the stage in the same Nets hat he wore in the original performance, bodying the entire song with a stunning vocal performance that earned him a standing ovation from the crowd at the end of the song. Corden's band leader, Reggie, was even shown on camera for a minute wiping away tears.
As Corden put it, "It just sends goosebumps around your body." The pair spoke after the performance and Corden asked Yung what the past few days have been like since the video was posted. "It's been awesome. I got to meet you!" Yung responded. Undoubtedly, this guy has a big career of performing ahead of him. Watch his Late Late Show performance above.
