Since its foundation in 1998, the Red Bull Music Academy has been pushing the envelope. The initiative has successfully brought panels, concerts, installations, and exhibitions, to venues and cities around the world. This year, Montreal is the lucky host of its 2016 edition. The Quebec city will be home to events by Sampha, Iggy Pop, and Bjork among others. The whole thing gets underway at the end of the month, and you can get a more detailed look at their calendar, here.

Along with the terrific live aspects, Red Bull Music Academy is debuting its latest endeavour - the very cool animated series, The Junction. The show focuses on some of music's most interesting and more recent collaborations, and gets the POV of the artists involved. Within the segments, producers like Kaytranada and Lunice, chat with singers like Samuel T. Herring and Jessy Lanza. You can watch the new trailer above, via YouTube.

Expect The Junction, when it releases its first episode in the near future. In the meantime, stay locked onto Red Bull Music Academy's website for news and previews of the upcoming Montreal event.
