Amir Obé comes through strong on his angst-ridden, downtrodden new song, "No Peace." The NYLZ-produced track sets it's moody tone right from the beginning with a haunting howl that increasingly builds before Amir jumps in with his signature style of melody driven rap over a throbbing, reggae-tapped beat.

"Where your love now?/Poured my heart out to the floors now/Treat your love like a drug, I been drugged out/Treat your feelings like a target bring your guns out," the Detroit native raps, seemingly describing the downfall of a seesawing love that he can't seem to get a grip around. "It’s the back and forth of a tortured love. A woman pulling me into her depths and unknowingly drowning me in the process," he told Fader. "This is an expression of my suffocation."

The song is a powerful, ear-sucking track fueled by desperation, but it surprisingly picks up in the end, leaving us with hope that maybe love, and specifically the relationship he is singing about can work out after all.

It's clear from the track why the talented artist has been co-signed by OVO and Drake himself for his past work and was even recruited to produce an If You're Reading This, It's Too Late track.
