Young Thug has released the first song off of his upcoming mixtape, Jeffery. The tune, "Elton," finds the ATL rapper linking up with legend Wyclef Jean and is produced by Wheezy and Cassius Jay.

The song isn't too much of a surprise since Thug actually posted up an awesome video of Wyclef singing him a very special happy birthday in the studio a few nights ago. Still, the reggae-infused cut is a welcome release as we try to pass the time while waiting for the rapper's highly-anticipated new Jeffery tape.

Early Wednesday morning, the rapper now possibly known as "No My Name Is Jeffery" apologized in a since-deleted Instagram video for the delay on the mixtape's release, explaining that it was due to complications with the artwork. He promised to release a song sometime soon, but his 300 label head has hinted to August 26 as the very special date when the world will get to hear what Thugger has been working on.

Fortunately, it looks like we might be able to find out more about the project's release because Thug is set to appear on Travi$ Scott's .Wav Beats 1 radio show Friday afternoon. Here's hoping Scott and Thug deliver some good news or maybe even a new track when they jump on Beats 1.

Shortly after that, Thug revealed that the song would be a collaboration with Wyclef Jean, and played a snippet.
