We've been charting the rise of Hackney artist SNE for a while now, and after tipping him for big things at the top of the year, he's certainly kept up his end of the bargain. Consistently dropping solid material across 2016—in his "trillfull" brand of R&B-licked rap—SNE crowns off his campaign today by delivering a debut mixtape in Essence. Remaining in his already-outlined stylistic area, at times, Essence is a cluster of ideas and influences hastily squeezed into its 14 tracks, but on more traditional, R&B-leaning efforts such as "Tiana Major" and "442", there's genuine moments of throwback magic. With production handled by Penhouse right the way through, and additional features kept to a minimum, the tape is a complete and steady introduction to a new star boy. Stream it in full down below.
