Blue Lab Beats, which consists of NK OK of hip-hop group The Age Of L.U.N.A. and Mr DM, are steadily earning kudos within the London jazz scene, and with good reason. On "Blue Skies", for example, the duo supplement a relaxed but uplifting brass melody with a steady boom-bap beat; it's a simple formula, but utterly effective. Ultimately, "Blue Skies" is an optimistic, carefree track to blast on a sunny afternoon.
