Diplo and M.I.A.'s falling out was very public and very messy, but it looks like times might finally be changing for the one-time couple. They sort of reconciled last year, although later engaged in some more back and forth sniping. Today on Twitter though, M.I.A. revealed she has a new track called "Bird Song" on its way August 12, produced by none other than Diplo himself. Based on another tweet, the track is likely co-produced by Blaqstarr. This would mark the first time that M.I.A. and Diplo have worked together since her 2010 album MAYA.

The pair were once very close, playing instrumental roles in the development of each others' careers as M.I.A.'s Diplo-helmed sophomore album Kala blew up thanks to its hit single "Paper Planes." Things quickly went south for them, though, and they ended up having a very public falling out. Diplo accused M.I.A. of not paying him and being into the "terrorism gimmick." M.I.A. later called his recent work "stripper music." They publicly reconciled a little over a year ago in an Instagram post.

Soon after that though, Diplo discussed the relationship in a Billboard interview. Although he said he had treated her poorly during their relationship, M.I.A. took issue with him saying that she had apologized to him and demanded an apology instead. "I wouldn't have expected you to be honest," he responded on Twitter. The feud has settled down since then, but "Bird Song" is the first indication that they've truly reconciled and are back working together. We'll have to wait and see how the track comes out to fully judge, but this is an exciting development considering M.I.A.'s new album is on the way soon.
