There are few movie soundtracks as hotly anticipated or as stacked with talent as the forthcoming musical accompaniment to Suicide Squad, and Kehlani has delivered our latest taste of the album. The singer debuted her contribution, "Gangsta," Monday with Zane Lowe on his Beats 1 show.

For Kehlani, the record felt really personal because of how she connected to the movie. "I don't think I’ve ever related to a character more than I related to Harley Quinn," she told Lowe. "I'm so excited. I feel so blessed to even be apart of the production period."

"I was a few bars in, and I was like, 'This is a beast. This is going to smash," Suicide Squad director/writer David Ayer told Lowe over the phone before describing the track as raw, broken, strong, and haunting. "It instantly worked."

The track's epic nature falls in line with Skrillex and Rick Ross' explosive collaboration, "Purple Lamborghini," which Lowe also premiered on his show. As Ross told Lowe, the whole thing is "far from generic" and we can even expect a pretty-cinematic visual accompaniment featuring Jared Leto's Joker to come this Friday when the movie arrives in theaters. Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, and Ty Dolla $ign teamed up for their soundtrack cut, "Sucker for Pain," which also features Logic, X Ambassadors, and Imagine Dragons.

Unfortunately, the soundtrack's scheduled release hasn't totally gone as planned with Atlantic Records reportedly trying to track down the person who leaked a part of the film's soundtrack.
