ScHoolboy Q stopped by Hot 97 Wednesday morning, and while he was there he chopped it up about his upcoming album Blank Face LP. They got to discussing his single "THat Part" with Kanye West. He explained that he linked up with Kanye through TDE's CEO Top Dawg, who lives in the same neighborhood as Kanye. After he received it, he was unsure about the verse at first, but it ended up growing on him. "I was by myself, I had just woke up and it was already in my messages," he said. "I was like oh he served me, this is why I didn't ask him... My heart was breaking with every 'OK,' and then I'm like oh I get it. And then I played it again I was like that's why he's Kanye West."

Later in the interview, he revealed that he struggled with reading throughout most of his childhood. "I didn't know how to read until like 9," he said. "I never paid attention, and then once I got it I never failed a class again... I pick up on things real fast."

He also discussed Jay Rock's motorcycle crash on Grammy night last year. Although he was initially concerned ("My heart dropped," he said), once he realized Jay was okay he started clowning on him real quick. "I told his dumb ass don't get on no motorcycle, he got on it anyway and now look. I told him that and he done crashed that motherfucker. Nah but he alive man so we clown," he said.

You can check out the interview in full above, and grab Q's new album Blank Face LP on Friday.
