Rihanna gave her audience in Lille, France a friendly reminder that they were there to see her concert, not to play Pokémon. “I don't want to see you texting your boyfriends or your girlfriends," she said on stage. "I don't want to see you catching any Pokémons up in this bitch." She's currently in the midst of her ANTI world tour, and apparently hasn't been feeling the distractions that phones and Pokémon hunting has brought to her shows.
Pokémon Go has become a worldwide phenomenon, quickly eclipsing apps like Twitter and Tinder in popularity. It's also led to a number of crazy news stories, like when a Wyoming teen found a dead body or when a driver smashed into a police car while playing. Nintendo's stock has doubled in value since the app was released just a few weeks ago.
Naturally, fans took the opportunity to clown on Rihanna a bit, both for her dislike of the viral monsters and for her incorrect pluralization of Pokemon.
Nintendo won't be happy about this one.
