It sounds like Lil Wayne is in some legal some trouble with American Express. According to TMZ, the Young Money rapper is being sued by the company for being over six months late on a five-figure bill.

American Express filed a lawsuit Thursday for the back amount of $86,396.75 plus the cost of legal fees. The filed documents claim Weezy has been in the red since December 2015.

Unfortunately, this isn't the first time that Lil Wayne has run into money problems. Back in 2014, Wayne filed a lawsuit against Birdman and Cash Money Records over delays of releasing his album Tha Carter V for $51 million in advances and payments. Later on, the lawyer who helped represent him sued Wayne for $375,000 in unpaid legal fees related to the case.

That same year, the rapper ran into legal troubles once again when a private jet company sued him for $1 million for failing to make payments for two out of the three years that he leased a private plane from them. In 2015, he officially lost the case and was ordered to pay the company $2 million.

Most recently, Wayne also went up against Universal Music, which is the parent company to Cash Money and his own Young Money, by suing them for millions of dollars. The suit claimed Universal withheld tens of millions of dollars in payments to him and owed him up to $40 million in unpaid royalties generated from DrakeNicki Minaj, and Tyga's releases.

American Express told Complex in an email that they cannot comment on any personal Card Member accounts due to their privacy policy for Card Members. Lil Wayne has remained silent on the subject, but instead has been promoting his upcoming Weezyana, which is going down this August in New Orleans, La. and will also feature 2 Chainz.
