After weeks of anticipation, the internet lost its collective shit when Desiigner finally released the full length version of his “Timmy Turner” track Thursday.

The song, which was expanded from an XXL Freshman freestyle, was met with mixed reviews as well as a series of questions; chief among them were “Can anyone understand a word Desiigner is saying on the track?”; “Is he sounding like Future on purpose?”; and “Who exactly is Timmy Turner?” Well, we now have the answer to at least one of those questions.

In an interview with All Def Digital, the Brooklyn rapper explains who the character is; and it turns out, it’s not The Fairly OddParents' protagonist.

“Timmy Turner is me. I was referring to myself when I was saying I ‘was wishin’ for a burner.' And when I said ‘she fuckin’ for BET,’ I was referring to a girl that, you know, would do anything for the fame,” Desiigner explained in the filmed interview. “Then I would say in the song that I know that my soul’s in the furnace; because if I know that I wish for the burner, and she knows that she would do anything for the fame, you know you go to hell.”

Desiigner goes on to drop more tidbits about the song, including how he met producer Mike Dean, and how “Timmy Turner” was always intended to be a track. He also talks about the success of “Panda,” what he wants for the future, and how he perceives the current hip-hop game.
