Cousin Stizz returned Thursday with his sophomore mixtape MONDA. The 14-track project is held down almost entirely by Stizz, boasting only a single feature from Larry June. He also keeps the production credits close to home, with names like Lil Rich, Dumdrumz, Tee-WaTT, and M. Ali popping up much as they did on his first mixtape. The production credits do get a little helping hand of star power from the likes of Cardo and Lakim, who appear on the tracks "Every Season" and "Reup and Bake," respectively. MONDA carries the name of one of Stizz' friend, who tragically passed away from cancer. Stizz decided to pay tribute with his mixtape title.

Stizz' first mixtape, 2015's Suffolk County, first put the Boston rapper on the radar of many hip-hop fans when it dropped last June. MONDA mostly picks up where Suffolk County left off, featuring a similar style but also showcasing his artistic growth. Stizz has been building buzz for the tape over the last several weeks. He dropped the singles "Coulda Been," "Gang Green," and 500 Horses," and on Tuesday he unleashed the video for "Where I Came From." The clip features him giving a glimpse into life in his native Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, serving as the video's narrator.
