Yesterday, the infamous whistleblower network WikiLeaks unleashed a 20,000 page document dump of infiltrated emails from the Democratic National Committee. Amid all of the political wheeling and dealing laid bare in the trove of private messages was a rather curious revelation about singer Ariana Grande.

Sometime around September of last year, a DNC staffer named Zachary Allen reportedly fired off an inquiry with the subject line, “Performer for POTUS” that asked, “Can we also vet Arianna Grande?” Apparently, Allen, or one of his bosses, was interested in securing a slot for Grande to perform at some point at the White House. After an extensive background check, however, the two-word answer that reportedly came back from White House employee Bobby Schmuck was a resounding, "Nope, sorry." The reason for the denial was reportedly her now infamous donut-licking fiasco.

Per the WikiLeaks report:

“Ariana Butera-video caught her licking other peoples' donuts while saying she hates America; Republican Congressman used this video and said it was a double standard that liberals were not upset with her like they are with Trump who criticized Mexicans; cursed out a person on Twitter after that person used an offensive word towards her brother.”

For those who don't recall, Grande was caught on surveillance footage from July 2015 licking a donut she hadn't purchased in a shop in California. She was also overheard on the recording saying, "I hate America." After the video came to light, Grande was forced to issue a statement where she explained, "I am EXTREMELY proud to be an American and I’ve always made it clear that I love my county (sic). What I said in a private moment with my friend, who was buying the donuts, was taken out of context and I am sorry for not using more discretion with my choice of words."
