No management, no label: NAVAN are doing it for themselves. Locking away to create a sound that's uniquely their own, the London-based duo draw on hip-hop, electronica, classic soul and grime, which perfectly reflects the city's melting pot culture. Today, the all-rapping, singing and producing twosome follow-up 2015 single "Paradigm Paradise" with "2 Decks And A Mic", paying sonic and visual homage to the grime era they both grew up in. "Grime has played a major influence on our sound," Vanessa told Complex over email. "Nathan's roots in music started in the pirate radio scene in south London, where he was a grime emcee and producer. He then met me and my background's in indie-soul and hip-hop, so it gave us a distinctive edge."

Directed by Melo Renn, the lo-fi visuals feature footage from Jammer's legendary birthday set on Deja Vu FM (2004), capturing the essence of the genre but with a fresh spin on things. If you're after an act with a keen eye for the future, NAVAN is that act for you. Peep their video exclusively above.
