There's no denying Demi Lovato is a strong, opinionated force, and it seems she has inserted herself into the long-running feud between Jennifer Lopez and Mariah Carey.
On Thursday night, Lovato got involved by first chiming in on a meme on Instagram that basically called out Ariana Grande being a worse version of Mariah Carey.
As always, a stampede of Ariana Grande stans and Mariah Carey fans instantly flooded Lovato's mentions. Grande fans praised Demi while Carey fans viciously attacked Lovato all over her social media.
Despite the backlash, Lovato held her ground. She commended Carey as a legend with huge talent, but said Carey "constantly disses people. It's nasty the way she treats Jennifer [Lopez]. Ari did nothing wrong." In contrast, she said Lopez keeps things classy. She continued about Carey, "The woman is mean for no reason. Extremely talented? Yes. Superhuman? Possibly. Unnecessarily rude? Absolutely."
If you remember, a rumored feud between Carey and Lopez began about 15 years ago when Carey delivered her now infamous "I don't know her" line to a reporter about Lopez.
It should be noted that Lovato has called Lopez a longtime friend and inspiration in the past and even credited Lopez with helping her to learn how to be more confident in her body and in this business.
As for the backlash, Lovato seems to have put it all behind her telling fans on Twitter she is "too tired to give two fucks." Only time will tell if Mariah responds to the whole thing with a simple, "I don't know her."
