Watch Kesha Deliver a Powerful Cover of Lady Gaga's Anthem "Til It Happens to You"

Kesha performed the song at the Humane Society gala over the weekend.

Kesha took the stage at the Humane Society gala Saturday evening to perform a very special cover of Lady Gaga's "Til It Happens to You." The song's co-writer, Diane Warren, assisted Kesha on piano as she belted out an incredibly emotional rendition of the track, which she dedicated to “every man, woman, child, and animal that has ever been abused.” The song was co-written and originally performed by Gaga for the documentary, The Hunting Ground, which dealt with the sexual abuse epidemic across college campuses.

Earlier this year, Gaga performed the Academy Award-nominated song at the ceremony surrounded by survivors of abuse. At that time, Kesha tweeted her approval and told fans, "it hit very close to my heart for obvious reasons." Similarly, Gaga tweeted support for Kesha’s performance at the gala writing, “I could feel your pain. These boys won’t be in charge forever. The wisdom of women is rising. Let’s get louder.” Gaga has been very publicly supportive of Kesha throughout her legal battle. Why is victim always the 'liar?' she asked in an Instagram post.

Recently, Kesha recorded the song, "True Colors," with the help of Zedd and permission from Dr. Luke. It's still unclear exactly what her career will look like in the future, but we're glad Kesha isn't staying silent. Watch her powerful performance of "Til It Happens to You" above.
