After five hip-hop albums with Tech N9ne's Strange Music label, Krizz Kaliko is taking things in a slightly different direction. Tonight, he released his first R&B album. While it still has rapping on it, the album is primarily R&B focused. Over 16 tracks, he finds the strength of his singing voice, and puts his own spin on the R&B sound. The album features Tech, as well as fellow Strange Music rappers like RittzStevie Stone, and Ces Cru.

In an interview with Complex last month, he talked about the genre transition. "I’ve dabbled in this kind of music already," he said. "We always talk about bringing the mainstream to Strange and not trying to be the mainstream. The type of music that I do can fit in pop music’s format, but it’s truly still me. It’s not me trying to fit in.” He also noted that now was a good time for him to try something new. “People are looking for something real... [It] will grab a lot of new people that I wouldn’t have normally touched with the more hardcore rap.”
