Mississauga rapper VNCHY has returned with another dim-lit, distorted cut produced by Sauga beatmaker Bijan Amir. On “Truly,” the 19-year-old rapper blends a melodic hook with vicious bars, possibly taking some sonic cues from Mississauga legend PartyNextDoor. The last time Bijan Amir and VNCHY connected was on the fashion-forward joint “Owens,” and this time they’re serving up more maxxed-out basslines, sinister synth leads, and jaw-clenching vocals.
“When you’re on a journey to greatness, a lot of people take pleasure in bringing you down,” VNCHY told Complex via email. “However, what we must understand, is that our only limitations are the ones we create ourselves.”
