Approaching certain songs for remixes can be a risky business. One such example is Roots Manuva's "Too Cold" (from 2005 album Awfully Deep), a haunting yet paradoxically uplifting piece of music that saw the godfather of UK rap layer lyrics flitting between reflection and self-empowerment over a plodding, strings-led hip-hop beat. Bravely, SoulCircuit stepped up to the plate and completely transformed the track with this new bootleg. While the original had a strong dose of the '90s, Soul Circuit's "Money" bootleg mutates it into a soulful, Afrobeat-tinged club rumbler. Though the melancholia's been ramped up somewhat, we're certain this would still work well in the right club. SoulCircuit will be releasing their new EP, PRISM, in the second half of the year, featuring Tiggs Da Author, D/C, and Jake Isaac. Listen to their latest work down below.
